What you see above is the whole roster, not a shortlist for the weekend. Twenty-three is what the books carry. How many of them have a given Saturday still open is a smaller number, and it moves through the week rather than staying put.

That is the single most useful thing to understand before writing. Nobody here is placed on a rota. Each woman keeps her own diary, so the list with room on a Thursday is not the list with room on a Saturday, and a visitor whose trip lands on the busier of the two is not choosing from a shorter menu, only from a different one.

Asking about a night, or asking about a person

These are two separate questions and a short trip goes better when they are kept apart. An evening on a Friday is straightforward to arrange. One named woman on that same Friday may be and may not be, and finding out slowly costs you the evening you were trying to use. A first message that gives the night, the length and says plainly whether the name is the point tends to finish in one exchange rather than four.

Languages, for a guest who is here alone

English appears on all twenty-three profiles, which matters at the end of a travelling day when nobody has a second language left in them. Beyond that the roster carries French on four profiles, Spanish and Russian on three each, and Romanian, Dutch, Greek and Portuguese on two each, with single speakers of Polish, Latvian, Lithuanian and Ukrainian. Where a journey to your room begins

There are no premises for anyone to leave from, so every journey starts from wherever she lives. Four districts hold the roster between them: Amsterdam Centrum with eight, Oud-Zuid with six, the Jordaan with five, De Pijp with four. In a city this compact, that usually puts somebody within reach of the street your room is on, whichever of the two nights you pick.

It is also the reason the window stays where it is. Forty to sixty minutes from an agreed booking to a knock, the same figure across the central districts, the same figure on a Saturday as on a Tuesday. The count begins when she is ready to travel rather than when the traffic behaves. Schiphol and the airport hotels sit outside that window and are arranged separately, with the journey time agreed with you before anything is fixed.

What each profile holds

Her age, her languages, the district her journey starts from, the techniques on her file, and photographs of her published with her agreement. The rate table repeats on every profile because the tariff is the same whoever you choose: one guest with one therapist is 180 euros for an hour, 270 for ninety minutes, 360 for two hours, 540 for three, and 1,250 for the eight hour block. A second pair of hands, or a second person in the room, reads off the other columns of that same table. Nothing is added for a weekend, and nothing is added for crossing the centre.

She chooses which bookings she accepts and may decline any of them. She sets what a visit includes, says so before it starts, and may end it at any point. Every woman on these pages is twenty-one or over, and so is every guest.

Booking one of them on a two night trip

Which evening you name matters more than which woman, and the two night weekend page weighs the Friday against the Saturday at length.

Put the name in the first line, with the address, the night and the length underneath it. The reply tells you whether she has that evening; where she does not, it comes back with who does rather than leaving you waiting. If you were here on an earlier trip and remember a name, that is enough to work from. If you remember the visit and not the name, say so and it can usually be found.
