Where a public holiday stretches a weekend, the middle night is the one that stops being contested, and Cassandra fills a good deal of hers that way. She works out of Oud-Zuid and covers the hotels of the centre from there, which on a quiet holiday evening is a fast crossing. Greek and English are both hers, though a room usually settles into one of them inside the opening minute. Twenty-six, and specific about her limits, which she names early and does not return to afterwards. A three night break leaves room for the two hour booking she would rather have than a short one.

Cassandra decides which bookings she takes and may decline any of them; she sets the limits for what a session includes, says what they are, and may end a visit at any point, as the terms set out.
